While Yoga focuses more on body awareness, alignment and the mind body connection, Pilates focuses on posturing and alignment and strengthen the smaller muscles. Both of these exercises work the core muscles to improve strength, flexibility and tone without bulking you up.

Diet

It had to come into play at some point. Basically to lose belly fat, you need to be working off more calories then you are consuming. You also need to make sure that you are avoiding highly processed foods and foods that are high in saturated fat. The proper diet for belly fat loss is made of lean protein, this should be 35% of your caloric intake. Then you need 35% of high fiber carbohydrates and 30% healthy fats such as olive oil and flaxseed oil. Eat more fruits and veggies that have a low glycemic index rating. The lower rating means they have less of an impact on your blood sugar levels. This will cut out cravings and help weight melt away.

Follow these simple steps and before you know it the belly fat will be gone and gone for good. Alternate the exercises so that you don’t get bored and you stick with the routine.
